Just Repaired Two Units Of Samsung 153V LCD Monitors

By on March 31, 2008

Both Samsung 153v LCD Monitors have the same problem which is dim display. When you power “On” the Monitor, you could only see dark display but after you have pressed the menu button, now you could see a slightly brighter OSD (On Screen Display) box. After the cover was removed, i could see lots of decayed glue in many part of the circuit board. Scrapping off the decayed glue and replaced 8 electrolytic capacitors and a pico fuse, the Samsung 153V LCD Monitor was brought back to life again.

It was a simple process if you know where and how to check it. It is a matter of time for you to familiarize in LCD Monitor repair as the more LCD Monitors come across your repair bench, the faster you will be in tackling the faults.

    Hi Juliaman,

Sometimes a bad backlifght (intermittent flicker backlight) could cause the lcd to shutdown. Check also for dry joints in the high voltage transformer pin.
