No Display In ViewSonic LCD Monitor VA1930wm Repaired
I have got a call from a customer who told me that his ViewSonic LCD Monitor had a “No Display” problem. I took the Monitor from his house and back to my place and tested it. It was confirmed that the Monitor can be turned ON with “Blue LED lighted up” but there was no display.
The first thing that I checked was the brightness setting but could not see the OSD menu.
When I removed the VGA cable, the power indicator light turned orange which means in standby mode.
This concludes that it is either the LCD panel is at fault (no display) or the power inverter section have problem.
Now I have decided to open the monitor for visualizing diagnostic.
On visual inspection I found burning marks on PCB. It was on the high voltage transformer area.
I had to clean it with a solution and have checked the surrounding components and everything seems to be ok. There were no bulged capacitor in the power section. Next I replaced the two capacitors with the marking of 470uf 25 volt. After installing the new capacitors and powered On, the display came back to life.
This repair work took me about ½ an hour to fix.

Sir great article,plz can u help me...i have a friends 14"crt tv which wouldn't turn on..cud u plz guide me on troubleshooting,i have replaced a bulged cap in the ps but still wont turn on

Check the around 240V to 300V DC on mains big capacitor if it is OK then check for +B voltages around 90 to 140V DC voltages on H-out Transistor on collector.

Why after you change the 25V 470 uf capacitor, it fix the problem as you said they were tested good.

Hi Thanks Yogesh for yet another great repair info!
Probably the capacitance was reduced and ESR was worsened, I always wonder why they design boards like that, placing the e-caps very near to heat sources - these caps get damaged from heat and this shorts their life...

How did you know that those 2 capacitor need to be replaced to fix the trouble?
what if after replacing those capacitor didn't solve the problem?what would be next troubleshooting you will do next to fix the no display error?

Viewsonic va1930wm LCD the problem is blink screen every 20 minutes 30 minutes 10 minutes but I change the capaciters but same problem. Please help me.
