Red Color Problem In CRT TV

By on July 3, 2013

I have got a problem with  Jumbo  CRT TV chinese make model No. KB210 51 cm. It displays a red faint colour with many lines from top to bottom. The sound is ok except the picture problem.

It could be the red transistor or the red gun in the tube have problem. If the red gun is shorted in the tube the lines will appear. I suggest that you compare the Green and Blue driver transistor voltage/waveform for reference. Any differences in the signals indicates that you should troubleshoot the area. Using an oscilloscope  will me much easier to see as compare to voltage.

      Hi Shibsankar,

Have you tried to adjust the RGB vr? What about the OSD menu setting? If all the RGB voltages at the CRT board are good this could suggest a weak tube. Have you tried run it on a color test pattern to see which color is weak?

      Hi Aniruddh,

Reddish can be the problem of weak picture tube, eeprom data corrupted, bad components in the CRT board and etc. Without hands on assessment I would only be guessing only.

    please sir,
    my CRT is behaving funny,
when I power it on, it displays full colour for a moment, then fades to monochrome.
what could be wrong with it?

      Hi Excellence,

Probably dry joints, loose connection in the crt board bad, jungle IC and etc.
