The CD replaced the floppy drive before memory sticks got here. I still use CD/DVD's also.

Robert, you mean how fast those are also going to disappear in favor of the SSD and USB Flasing memory modules?

I still use those so that's why I didn't mention them. And of course the CD-Rom is an invention made by Philips in the Netherlands, and produced and distributed together with Sony Worldwide to escape their previous debacle called Video 2000. (That lost first from Betamax and secondly from VHS_Video Home System recorders). PS: did you know that it was Bing Crosby who helped producing the first VCR's called Ampex in the USA?

I recently heard that it is one of the many Israeli Inventions that changed the world! Just like the 3D camera for Xbox360 and Xbox One, now known as Kinect.
