Sadly the metal container in which the li-ion cell is placed is pressfit mounted to the pcb in its top and is very hard to disassemble to be able to examine the entire battery.
Probably the battery that also has another round pcb with a third chip, U2 (?) a sot23-5 ic with code AS1?? and a smd coil with code 2K2 still has another part that is defect if it is not the li-ion battery cell that fails here.
Conclusion: repair of these type of batteries is made kind of impossible and is also too expensive compared to just buying a complete new 5V AA 1.5V li-ion battery!

Thanks Imoudu! If all goes well my present job ends end of next year. Which hopefully will give me much more time to make and build new Electronic tools and to do more interesting repairs.

Thanks Bruce, in my case it is mostly about not having enough time and the energy to do a lot more in electronics with all my tools and equipment at home.
After my daily post delivery route on bike coming home I need the rest to keep up my health for the next day!
Sadly it is not only wisdom that comes with age as you probably know (lol).
