Albert:yes, I agree but in my case was just plug in and the repair was done. Not all laptops require soldering job when replacing the charging ports. some need soldering and other ones just sit in a special place and a socket. have a good day my friend.

It can be done with hot-air desoldering and often requires insertion of the new jack while heating up the old solder in the meantime. This way avoiding having to clean out all solder from the vias and avoiding risking damaging their tracks or the mainboard multilayer tracks which often isn't easy and this way not necessary. And can be done with a good standard solder station too by using plenty of new solder.
