Francisco,
Don't get confused as this is just a cross checking method.

In diode mode i think there is limitation up to 200Ohm.

But may be waleed wants to reconfirm that the reading which he has form his previous repair experience in same type of equipment.

On getting there "0"ohm he rechecked it on DIODE/Buzzer mode for concluding the doubt.

I forgot make you a question: why did you do two measures: one in ohm scale and one in diode scale.

My digital multimeter has:

- the continuity scale which use a 3.0 work voltage,
- the diode scale which also use a 3.0 work voltage.

and in detecting short as you did, I have no see difference (yes, diode scale measure volts or kohm).

thanks!

Thanks Walleed!! I then understand. ok, then in ohm scale you detected the short (0 ohm) on the circuit. And in diode scale is expected the result of zero (volt).

thankss!!

Francisco: when checking with the ohm setting on my multi meter, I was suppose to get 450 Ohm reading but I did not, I was getting 0 ohm. not OL. and on the diode settings I got continuity which means dead short and parts are shorted out as mentioned earlier. this testing was done with machine not connected to power..have a blessed day

Fantastic job Waleed :

About your comment:

"I have to get at least 450 ohms reading there. When I tested with my multimeter on these terminals I got nothing and when testing with diode reading, I got a zero reading indicating a short in the device."

I don't understand this. How can you explain me that in ohm scale the multimeter got nothing (I understand "OL") and the diode scale got zero volts (that is 0 ohmios).
Maybe the ohm an diode scale in your multimeter works with different working voltage?
Mybe in ohm scale don't excite the semiconductor components but in diode scale, yes?
