A friend of mine that I know from church brought his son’s fan for repair. He said the fan was brand new that he brought last year but only used it for couple of weeks. He tried to use it again this summer but for some reason it did not work.

Since it was sitting in the storage room for a long time, I was expecting to see a dusty, dirty fan but to my surprise, it was clean and nice.

I spun the motor manually and it was spinning freely which brought me to another way of fixing this fan.

The idea in mind was to look for that inside hidden fuse inside the motor. I have seen it so many times and I was hoping this was the case here.

Finally, I got to the fuse and when I checked it with my multi meter the fuse was open as expected. It is very easy to replace the fuse but in case the motor is bad, the fuse will blow again. I was willing to give it a try and see.

This is a very delegate situation. I am dealing here with very thin wires and any wrong move will cause further damage to it. I was very careful.

I replaced the open fuse with a new one. It was 3.15 amp rating. I added a shrink tubing to it to prevent any contacts with the other wires. I did not have to do that because all the wires were covered but I did it anyway for further isolation.

The motor in this photo is actually rotation but I could not capture that on camera. Anyway, it was up and running and I was happy to see that fan come to life.

Mission Accomplished.

Having the right temperature fuses at stock is very professional! (I guess they normally are temperature safety fuses? Of course you meant "delicate" instead of writing it with a 'g').
