A manager of a German organization for physically and mentality challenged people called me today about a toaster oven. He said that one of the heating elements on top is not heating up causing the overall heat in the oven to drop down.

I do not usually work on such devices but I am willing to give it a try to fix it simply because I adore this man a lot for what he is doing to help out our community when it comes to working among the mentally and physically challenged people.

Replacing a heating element is not a rocket science but the problem is in finding such part in our area. If they are found, they would be too expensive to buy and it is not worth it. I explained the situation to the customer and he asked me to give it a try and see the outcome.

As seen, it is rusty on the inside but I managed to open the oven and take the faulty heating element out.

Once the part was out and as seen, it was bent in the middle so the internal resistance is gone and that was confirmed when I did the ohm checking on this part.

I called a friend of mine who owns electrical supplies shop and asked if he can order this part for me and he said he can. The length was 37 CM and in less than a week that part was in my shop ready to be installed. I was really happy to see the part in my shop so I called the customer and told him that the part is here and I am about to install it.

One thing I forgot to do is taking a photo of the new part because the customer was in my shop and I could not do it.

I installed the part, powered on the device and all the elements were getting red hot and that put a smile on my friend’s face.

These heater elements are easily bought on Aliexpress. You didn't mention the fact that they are only 110V AC each, placed in series on 220VAC. I bought those 110V heater elements for my 1500Watt Bestron oven I use for reflow purposes. Two elements are placed in the top of the oven and two elements are placed in the bottom. I needed the 36 cm length elements that sadly were made wrong with the connector pointing outside instead of inside, why I also needed to make a longer 300 degrees Celsius safety silicone wire with the right safety 4.8mm faston lock connectors and YEFYM HS-40J crimping pliers with Claw HS-03BC 0.5-6mm2 20-10AWG to crimp those on.
See here for the heater elements of which the 37cm was a bit too long why I ordered the 36cm elements that had sadly the wrong positioned male faston holders that made the original oven wire about 5cm too short.

Here the 6mm2 Crimping tool needed:

And here the 300 degrees silicone wire can be ordered:

PS: those safety 4.8mm female faston with safety oven locks I couldn't find on Aliexpress. So I ordered those 20x Neutrik NL Faston Artikel no. 213702 · Price € 0,19 from Thomann.de in Germany here: https://www.thomann.de/nl/neutrik_nl_faston.htm

Imoudu: yes it was an easy fix. I have the same oven bigger size and always impressed with the result. I roast a chicken for about 5 hours on a very low heat like 110 and in five hours I get the best tender chicken ever. have a blessed day
