Mark: yes in a way I agree but what I do usually is listen to the customer and draw my own conclusion about the repair. I never let the customer's comments dictates me to what direction to go but I totally understand what you mean. have a blessed day

Ablert: totally agree with you but he did a mistake and he learned the hard way from that mistake. this customer is regular now and he wants to learn the good electronics and I am trying to help him as much as I can. thanks for your comments and have a blessed day

Parasuraman: yes indeed, sorry about that but the idea was to glue the relay flat face down then soldering wires from the board to the pins of the relay according to the schematics I provided. thanks for your comments and have a blessed day

I always say, the customer can be your best friend or your worst enemy. They can provide valuable information to help with your diagnostic path or fail to tell you the 'repairs' that they or others have done and totally throw you off a logical direction.

A customer that does his own repair without really knowing how to test his device or its components often means trouble. Even throwing away defect relays is not a smart thing to do because even the relay coils with the many thin layers of wire can be re-used for other repairs. Like for fixing broken copper tracks or making new hand-wired prototype boards.
