An Easy Fix To A Dead HP Computer Monitor
A customer called me about a dead HP computer monitor. For some reason, this computer monitor was dropped off while it was on and when it hit the ground, the monitor went dead.
I tested the monitor and confirmed it was dead
and started taking it apart to find out what went wrong when it fell down.
Seems like this screen fell on this side and I do not see a big damage caused by the fall so I am expecting an easy fix.
The moment I took the frame off I saw this loose flex cable.
That flex cable should be attached to the board that has the power switch and I believe this was the fault.
I attached the flex cable to the board and powered it one. My only concern was if the actual screen was broken or still intact so there is one way to find out.
I was so pleased to see the NO SIGNAL sign coming on so connected it to my signal source and it was working fine ( forgot to take a photo of it).
I called the customer for pick up and he came right away. He could not believe that this monitor survived the fall and be honest I felt the same way; the outcome is great and I am happy with that.

Luck helps in such cases! So long no other damages show up in time caused by the drop to the floor the customer may count himself very lucky!

Good and easy fast repair i guess.
Question pls: If screen of monitor shows only raster on screen with no pictures,what do i suspect first? thanks.

White screen Main cause is Missing Panel supply voltage,Check Datasheet of panel to confirm the voltages, 5v or 12v.
Check Clean LVDS Cable,Check supply on fuse connected to supply line of screen in scalar board.
