Nice one article which showing value of using ESR meter. Great job Mr. Waleed. I will be always thankful to Mr. Justine Yong who recommend Blue ESR Meter. This is the best test gear in my workstation. As i think about less life of E-Caps is because of LCD SMPS is fully covered in LCD monitor casing and shielding.I always replace E-Caps with good quality brand with 105 degree temperature.

Shihab. thanks for the comment. yes, I agree on the quality issue. they used to make them better but on the frequencey issue I am not so sure. capacitors have life period. they work like they are made to work then it stops working simple as that. any comments from others are welcome. we can actually discuss this issue.

that is the beauty of the ESR meter. I usually check it inside the circuit. it is faster this way. I do not have to take them out, discharge them and then check them. the ESR meter does the job and cut down on repair time.

We all recognized high percentage of capacitor failure in modern electronic circuits. some people think it is because capacitors quality is lower than before.
i think it is because these capacitor is being used in higher frequency circuits than before which shortens its lifetime.
what do you think?
