Gassan: in a situation like this an ESR meter comes handy and that is the first thing to check..sometimes we look and think that is a hard one but in reality it is simpler that we thought. have a good day

Parasuraman: yes, it was a hard one that took a long time to get fixed due to the length of the TV shutting down. it was a real challenge but it is fixed and that what counts. have a good day

I got such a TV with the same symtoms and I wasn't able to repair and it ended up getting returned to the customer. I suspected the processor on the logic board because it was hotter than the restof the components. Now I'm think differently. Perhaps the processor was suppoesed to that much hot and it normally is like that in all devices. The the problem could've been the caps. Thank you for the article. My approach will be differnt next time.
