I have purchased this adapter for save IC's data information of my devices, it helps if suddenly equipment stop to works, then with saved data before, I can re-write / programming IC's again "in circuit".
If someone need to do so, see for references.

I have faced it in the past with DVD's and Wifi router, this helped to recover the Flash IC memory information, and devices back to works fine.

As some Telescopes also use EEPROM and FLASH IC's memory, this should be worth as well

yes, my son is getting a playstation soon but I control the time he plays with it. we have set of rules in the house to keep them controlled and happy at the same time.
i let him use that xbox for testing purposes but still in controlled situations. have a blessed day

I like the way you drop clues about what you think the problem is. If it shuts down repeatedly, the most like some components are overheating.

But I think the idea of letting your son play some games with that XBox was really a bad idea.
