I am very glad that you have made your teacher happy by repairing his radio. I am a 71 year old radio serviceman and I am happy that there are still a few keen radio listeners. In the small place l am living in l have hardly done any repairs in the last decade. Everything is TV now. Recently l received a RL118 with a half-shorted RF IC CD2003GB. Am unable to find a replacement. Could anyone tell me where it can be had from? I want the original and not the same number from any other make such as LN UN etc.

Seldom does one get the opportunity in life to appropriately thank a respected former teacher, especially an elder who is no longer active (and perhaps forgotten by many). While I am sure your gracious act was appreciated by your teacher, I suspect you were much more pleased and honored than he.
You will remember this little deed fondly for the remainder of your own life!

As i remember from old days in these small radio the AM/FM switch was main problem and just by spaying with tuner cleaner the radio getting fix . another problem was dirty tuner also by spaying the tuner and after getting dry radio was fixed dry joints ,broken pcb ,as well as bad switch volume also is note able .
