Hi Zed,

Yes I understand what your asking Zed. But when I made this article I already had glued the plastic cabinet together not knowing that I was going to send it in as an repair article for Jestines site (it wasn't my first repair of course, but it was my first article I had send in).

But the replaced component is easily traceable by its datasheet. As said the defective P-channel 5.3A 9435 Mosfet was exchanged by an also more current capable 4407A P-channel Mosfet. And if you ever would open one of these chargers yourself you now surely know what to look for. A shorted toroide is easily found. And in the end of my little article you get more info about these little powerful and nifty Mosfet's then you would get from additional 10 photo's !!

totally agree. we need some pictures of what inside the charger. that would give us more clear idea with what has been done on it. any way, good article.

thanks for the info you share albert. but it is more likely good if you take the picture inside of the charger circuit and parts did you replaced.
