We quite often find in some of the equipment that we have to service that the manufacture has removed the part number identification.

Why they removed the front panel chip markings from the uController beats me. Maybe because they used someones patent to program the processor with it and they wanted to prevent any lawsuits? It probably also means that if a service manual for this multimedia speaker system exists, the chip probably only has a Philips order number.
