Hi Abdul,

There are many electronic shops in Pasar road and the shop that i went was Melectron. Capacitance meter about RM130.00, Analog meter about RM35.00, solder gun RM50 and some other parts are less than RM50.00. The Databook is about RM250.00 (bought from R.E. Spare)

Hi Roy,

I bought it from my local electronics shop and hardly can be found from the internet. The cost of shipping is very expensive because it weight slightly more than 2.5 kgs and the shipping cost to Kuwait could swell up to few hundred USD.

Hi Moises,

Wow! thanks for the sharing of using the tool. I agree with you about the HAKKO 808 quality- If the readers are in tight budget then the Ct-019 could be the only option

Hi Vic,

It just printed 2011. The previous edition was 2008/09. Perhaps it has to take some months to reach the electronics store.

As for the solder sucker, my experience is mixed. I have had two or three of those; sometimes it works like a charm and sometimes is frustrating. As always, it is better to start by adding fresh solder to the joint that you want to desolder to increase the thermo-linkage surface before applying the desoldering tool. One has to wait for the solder to melt and a little time more (to allow the solder on the other side of the board to melt too), then, apply gentle circular motion to the desoldering tool to assure that the lead to be desoldered moves freely in the hole (solder is all melted). You must not touch the pad with the tool during this circular motion action because it can be easily teared, then you can hit the trigger. If the lead is not freed, add more fresh solder and retry. Problem with these tools is power. Most are 25-30 watts, when in reality if one pretends to desolder a plated through-hole joint, multilayered board, big thick leaded components, etc, maybe 50 watts at least are required. Sometimes you can managed to perform assisted desoldering, which consists in adding heat on one side of the bord and the desoldering tool on the other side. In the end, I opte for the rather expensive solution of purchasing a Hakko 808 which can do any job cleanly. I also have an old hakko 807 and it is equaly powerful and frustration free. Low temperature melting solder is also a great inexpensive solucion to deal with double sided boards. Best regards.

Hi there, I wonder if anybody have tried to have the original sanwa or sunwa yx-360tr modded to add the LED and Buzzer. I have the Schematic for the yx-360 and ys-360, however the yx-360 doesn't have any free space in the selector wheel to add the buzzer, so it would have to be added to the x1 and the original resistor changed to adapt for the current comsuption of the buzzer and LED, also current limiting resistor for the LED should be added. If anybody did this successfully please let me know. Best regards.

Hi Philip,

I have not done the full review yet. I just bought the tool and if I have the time I will do the full review to see if it worth the money. Model is CT-019, 30 WATT and cost about USD20.00
