Bruhm LED TV Repaired
This 32″ led TV was brought to me by a neighbour with complaint of self increasing and decreasing volume after liquid deodorant accidentally poured into it by his wife. When I plug TV to wall socket, standby led on, and when I powered it, ( press on/off button) it on, but the standby and on/off LEDs On at the same time, blinking simultaneously with volume increasing and decreasing by itself.
Even at OSD mode it was abnormal: all OSD functions moving to the right continuously. Picture below.
I then opened up the case cover and clean up the dust, located where deodorant poured and used alcohol to clean up. Dry it for some hours after which I On TV, it work perfectly for about one hour and then back to same problem. I then did components level checks, found no faulty component.
So I just pack it in the store, hoping to replace the one single board TV is having. After about three months in the store, I read Mr Parasuraman.S article repair on similar TV (article 945 of 21/01/22) explaining how he changed all e-caps on the board. So I decided to try same on this particular TV also.
So brought TV out, tested it first by powering it, to my surprise it worked again even for longer hours. I guess TV must have dried very well over the three mouths in the store. However I still went on to replace some of the e-caps with new ones.
To my surprise while I was trying to desolder out one of the e-caps, the negative pin just pull out from inside of the cap, perhaps it’s one of the problems affecting TV.
Then I tested TV for about 11 hrs and it worked perfectly. Customer has picked TV for about one week now with no complaint. The pictures are below. This is the finished repaired work :
