I grew up in Hong Kong, another former British colony and my very first English textbooks were from Malaya and told stories about your country.

Among the guests of honor was Sir Alexander Grantham who was the Governor of Hong Kong when I was there. I didn't much about him as I was too young. I followed his link and read his life story and brought myself up to date with the history of Hong Kong.

I also read about Princess Alice,Duchess of Gloucester. She lived to the ripe old age of 102 and is the oldest person in the history of the British Royal Family.
