I've owned several of these devices and each one of them have failed miserably. I wouldn't suggest them to anybody who is serious about electronic repairs.

I have one of these Cold Heat soldering tools, I tried to use it twice and it did not get hot enough to solder. The unit does not have enough power for effective desoldering of many board- and chassis-mounted components. I have not used the tool for a long time, in my opinion it was a waste of money for the work I do.

I had two of this. One I bought at a grocery in the US and the other is a gift from my sister. I only used it twice and its not very effective and besides I had a better use of my alkaline batteries. Also if the tip is a little dirty, it does not heat up.
