I have this master piece from Creative. 1) There was some problem with Vol Controller. Volume does not increase nor decrease, it got fixed at some point. So I connected usb bt fm magic box to the stereo pin of the Creative speakers. Now volume can be controlled from the magic box and with remote also. 2) DC Adapter was making some noise, so I replaced it with a 12v 1.5 amp dc power adapter which works fine. But I think a 12v 3amp dc adapter works better.

I have the same speakers Creative SBS 2.1.

I am no technical expert, nor do i have any understanding of electronics.
I have just a soldering iron in my hand and like to try things.
I wanted to make these speakers wireless so i connected the input wires to a circuit from an old bluetooth neckband.
To my surprise it worked and i was using it as a bluetooth speaker.

Now after a month they stopped working. i tried to reverse this my removing the bluetooth circuit and soldering the 3.5 mm jack again. but the speakers won't work.

As i said i had no knowledge of electronics, i think the amplifier board may have been damaged. i can't find its replacement. can you help me out?

Hello all.... Here are some tips for the owners of this 2.1 system.
1) The adaptor is only having transformer inside so the rectifier and filter capacitor is inside the box, that means we can use any transformer having 12Volt@ 3amps or more current, ot even any dc adaptor having 12 to 15Volt DC.
2) The Volume controller and the standby ON/OFF switch can be replaced as these are problematic.

I have this exact same model. How to power it with just DC power? Can I make direct connection to the board? I have tried powering it with 5vDC like you did but no sound. Please help. I have 12v battery and dc to dc step down converter.

I myself used digital satellite TV power supply adapter. It powers Creative SBS 370 just fine...

duuh, any 12v adapter (such as any digital satelite TV decoder unit adapter/power supply for instance, also inside dvd player main power in circuit board pushes 12v out, or even computer power supply has 12v out...
