Thank you! Fixing all those bad 5V DC input jacks will hopefully save a lot of Tablets from dumping perfectly good Lithium battery packs with them.

The micro-B USB port is not the problem Robert. It is the new ON-THE-GO USB connection that completely drains my Tablet when I connect devices like my Smartscope on that USB port while not being able to charge my Tablet at the same time. Thus making use of these Tablets is very limited time wise! Because the Battery is empty in minutes because not being able to connect the adapter to charge it in the meanwhile! Its just another stupid invention to save a dollar!

Hi Paul. We learn many things every day even after decades of fixing and learning new tricks in the trade. I learned a new thing myself just before yesterday on how to read PAL 16L8 chips on a defect Wangtek ISA slot PC driver board. If you Google for PALdumper you'll find the schematics on how to make the adapter and use it on a TL866 universal programmer. (;)
Or Google on CharlesMacDonald the Genius behind the PALdumper. And if new larger Eproms are added to the list of my new 48 pins RT809H universal programmer with at least 22 Addresslines (A0 to A21) I will be able to make a PALdumper to also read PAL20L10 chips. As you must know that PAL programmers are beside very expansive also obsolete now and replaced by modern GAL programmers. Why this PALdumper adapter is great to add to our equipment!

Most devices, here in the USA at least, have ports for the micro-B so it isn't that big of a deal. The main problem is that the micro-B is easier to damage.
