Dell Monitor Repaired for No Power
Received Dell Monitor stating Problem No power & No LED Indication of power. Checked power cord for continuity cable is ok. For further testing I opened the monitor for visual inspection from inside.
For opening the LCD monitor first remove the stand then flip the display Bezel frame by pulling with the fingers (Never use pry tool or screen will get damage)
After removing bezel I pulled out display unit from the casing and removed PCB Unit.
Removed SMPS Unit for visual inspection
Visual No physical Damage Found.
Everything is seems OK. On solder side I found many dry solder points so before proceeding for voltage testing I have re solder those bad points.
After re soldering those bad solder points I connect the unit on the power and turned the switch ON & I found LED indicator is turned ON & got the screen display.
Conclusion: If you found too many dry solders on the circuit don’t waste your time using multimeter for voltage testing and component testing.
