HI Jonathan,

Most likely it is a backlight issue. Before that you have to make sure no dry joints in the high voltage transformer pins and the supply from the SMPS are good and stable (no bulged caps).

i have two of these monitors, and both appear to be suffering from the same problem. both turn on, and after a few seconds they go dark, however you can still see the output image on the display, if you look closely. what would be causing this, is it a backlight issue, or is it to do with the boards?? your help on this would be greatly appreciated.

HI Subash,

Is the output voltages from the SMPS stable? Is the Mainboard receiving all the voltages? Your problem could be dry joint/loose connection because when you hit it, it worked normally. Try turn on the Monitor with cover open and gently hit it with the handle of screw driver on the mianboard, power and inverter section.

Hi Ron,

Try replace the cap first (.22uf 100 volt) and this cap is quite easy to get from any local supplier. If you can't find then i suggest that you visit https://www.jestineyong.com/?cat=12
