I've seen a lot of brown glue(sometimes it even gets so dark it looks like black) on capacitors in SMPS for PC especially on their top and bottom but the capacitors are not always dead. I wonder why would anybody put a conductive glue on such items? Maybe just the glue is getting conductive with time? Or is it a trick for programmed/intentional aging - you know to make them go bad after some years of use so you buy a new one?
