Thanks for your article. I have a few DVD players to repair and will keep an eye out for that one. Can't say I've seen them stuck before though.

I have purchases Humphrey’s ebook and it does give some good guidance for repairs.

Great! I have never seen any motor in DVD players, which is stuck! The usual complaint is that it does not take the load or it is erratic, like the sliding motor.
