Electromagnetic Field Tester (EMF Tester)
Have you use this kind of test equipment before? It will not help in the electronic repair, this EMF tester is specifically designed to determine the magnitude of electromagnetic field radiation generated by power lines, computer’s Monitor, TV sets, video machinery and many other similar devices. I had used it in CRT Monitor and found that the greatest electromagnetic field radiation came from surrounding the picture tube neck area (particularly the yoke coils) and the flyback transformer area.
So in order to avoid unnecessary health problem when repairing the TV or Monitor with Power On. Make sure you don’t spend too much time (too concentrate) in testing the signal or voltage at the CRT board as this testing point is quite near to your body. Once the test is done, quickly switch off the equipment. Hope this information helps!
