Sometimes the shutdown can be due to the load problem. If after shutdown and you still get good output voltages from the power supply that means the load is the cause of the problem. Just make sure that all the e-caps have low ESR and no dry joints in the power supply circuit.

Thanks for providing such a great website. I think I have bought almost every one of your ebooks and have printed the out to read at the repair bench.

I have a problem that I have come across a number of times and I am wondering if there are any new techniques to deal with it. A CRT monitor is coming on all bright green. It is not the chassis, I swapped another working one in and it is still all green. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Concerning flybacks. I have a number of new ones from different manufactures. They all seem to fit into a particular chassis I am working on. Is there anyway to tell which ones will work on which monitor? Can they be swapped around into monitors with the same specs or are they specific to each monitor?
