HI Gremloyd,

You may need a schematic diagram to find the part number of the broken ic. Without the schematic it is hard to tell unless you can find the similar unit for comparison.

I ask, how do i find a part number into a broken ic?i have seen mark printed into a pcb ic831s,it's a lcd monitor samsung b1930n,but i search in web there is no info for that ic and am trying to go in our nearest electronics store they said we dont have that kind of ic! or do you have a data sheet to replaced same parts number for ic831s? i hope you help me to found a solution to my problem. Thanks a lot....:)

Thanks for the tip on finding burnt resistor value i will try that cause i have a mecer tw222 lcd screen with that problem but i will have to replace the fet and power ic first and check for other components that might be faulty.I will also appreciate it if anyone is reading this reply im looking for a schematic of this lcd monitor.
