Finding ESR Meter

Many of us heard or already used the ESR meter in the repair work. Those who owns the ESR meter will find that this meter could really speed up their work especially checking on electrolytic capacitors. The limitation of ESR meter is that it can’t test non polar cap that have small capacitance value. The nearest we can find was the Digital Capacitance Leakage Meter kitset and it can’t test the ESR value of the non polar cap. I believe the non polar cap problem also can be caused by bad ESR and not necessary only the capacitance value out.At current moment sencore LC103 have the capability to measure such low capacitance ESR.

If you have any info about a meter that can measure ESR value for very low capacitor value please let us know and I’m sure many will appreciate it.

   HI JESTINE
   i have got following ESR factor for a good cap under 1 microfarad value with my blue ESR METER.
   cap 0.12 microfarad good ESR 17
   " 0.15 " " " 10
   " 0.33 " " " 4.9
   " 0.47 " " " 3.3
   but for following caps my blue meter can not do anything
   cap 0.012micro farad
   cap 0.015 " "
   cap 0.022 " "
   and so and so i do not know any equipment to get the ESR of these caps if you or any one help me to read the ESR S

   HI Beh,

   For the Blue ESR meter it can measure non polar cap from 01.uf and above. That's why when you measure 0.012 uf cap you got no reading.

   JESTINE my blue ESR meter is amazing meter . is fast. easy to use
   this much cheap . i have to say thank you ANATECK co. for making this
   for me and thank you JESTINE you introduce me this meter
   but still i have this dream if ANATECK co. make another ESR meter for
   caps lower than 0.1 microfarad
   hope to that date

   I have The Capacitor Wizard made by Midwest Devices and The ESR -micro 4.0. I have been using my Capacitor Wizard for about 12 years now and its a great esr meter. I also use the ESR-micro because it can read ESR and capictance at the same time.
