HI Bill,

Sorry no info on that because i do not have the schematic and the Monitor with me otherwise i could open up the monitor and see the part number. If the transistor is located in one of the lamp circuit (assuming bottom lamp) then you can compare it with the other lamp circuit (upper lamp.

Hi Jestine,

I have a ViewSonic VX710 I am repairing for a friend. It had 4 bulging electrolytic caps, which I replaced. It also has a brown glue used to hold down parts, that is very corrosive, and the glue had eaten the leg off of a .15UF mylar cap. I was able to salvage the cap, by scraping away some of the plastic coating around that leg of the cap, and soldering on a new lead. Re-installed it on the MB, and powered the unit up. It just blinks GREEN on the LED. Substituted good lamps, with no difference. Found a blown transistor in the backlight inverter circuit that had the eaten away mylar cap.

My problem is that I cannot identify the blown transistor. It is a SOT-23 package, marked with a 'DK' at one end, and a 'QA' at the other end. Do you have any idea what this transistor is ??

Thanks,
