Albert. Thanks for an educative electironics repair article. I find troubleshooting SMD components challenging, given their small size. Their rated values may also
not be indicate. Worse still, they may be burned completely when jlghtening comes calling and so replacing them becomes an even bigger challenge.

Because that board - see the photos - has two high voltage warnings on both transformers that drive 4 separate HV cfl tubes for the TV screen backlight.

I wonder why you refer that board as HV board when there is no 230vac input.Good that fet has making on it, in some cases they don't have.

I didn't want to elaborate on the obvious too much Bill, also leaving out the dual ME4946 N-channel mosfet datasheet and how the remote looked inside because it was all mentioned.
And the electric shock warning on the label here only warns for the HV power supply board, because there is no dangerous 230VAC power line input. Only 12V 4A DC.

The 50 small smd dual mosfets were 9.29 Euro alone. So the shipping cost was about 1.43 euro. Which often is the same shipping price when only a few of those parts are ordered. Why I bought 50 of them to make it relatively more interesting having to pay extra for shipping.
