My friends, family and I first went to Sydney to stay for three days before heading to Tathra Wharf for a fishing trip. On the first night in Sydney we were invited by a friend who had stayed in Australia for more than 40 years for a dinner gathering with his family. We were  blessed to have him arranged for all the accommodation in Sydney and in Tathra. It was an 8 hours drive from Sydney to Tathra and I drove a rented second generation Kia Carnival and it was a nice and powerful MPV. On the second day morning (Sunday) we went to a local church (Blessing Church) and after the service we went to grocery shop to buy all the necessary things and food before heading to Tathra with 3 MPVs on Monday morning. We reached there about 4 pm (we stayed at Sapphire Court) and along the journey we could see lots of beautiful sceneries and Batemans Bay was just superb! Tathra is such a beautiful place with nice beaches, people and etc. The temperature was about 20 to 22 Celsius. We were mainly fishing at the Wharf and the beach. The fishes that we caught were Tailor and Salmon. On Thursday we checked out about 10.30 am and reached Sydney about 7 pm. We took the 3.30pm flight on Friday and by the time we reached home, it was already about  12 am.

My family and I liked the place (Tathra) and if we have the chance to go there again we will surely visit the place again. Below are the photos taken during the 7 days trip to Australia:

If the fish size is too small, you have to release it back to the sea.

    Hey Jestine,
I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip to Australia. Not many people realise how big this country is and the distances between cities and towns can be great.
Although we are about 2 hours inland, we often travel to the ocean.
The coast has some beautiful sites and sometimes we forget how amazing the area is.
So the question is - did you manage to catch any fish?
Glad you had a good time with friends and family.

    Hi Jestine,

Glad you had a great holiday in Australia - I must say it looks very inviting; I'll have to make a plan to visit there one day. Have you ever considered visiting Zimbabwe? Despite what negative blab you read or hear it's a wonderful place to have a holiday especially if you enjoy big game viewing and exciting active game fishing like bass and tiger fish.

      HI Beau,

Thanks for inviting but currently have some other countries that we have not visited yet. This year end will visit South Korea and next year probably Guangzhou China. It will not be a fishing trip-it is more on sight seeing trip.

It's nice to see you out in the open enjoying a nice holiday, instead of at your workstation. Thank you for the photographs. What is a Tailor? I know Salmon, (here in the Pacific Northwest of U.S.A. we have MUCH Salmon). If you look at the San Juan Islands in Northwest Washington State, you can see on the far east tip of Orcas Island, the resort Sea Acres where my family's fishing cabin is. Maybe you can visit here. Thanks again!

      Hi Mark,

I liked that word "workstation" ha-ha. Tailor is famous in Australia and is a good eating fish. You can Google it to see the picture of Tailor. The Tailor fish teeth is very sharp and they come in a big school. The resort is very nice and who knows one day if I have retired I can go to that place also.

      Hi Pete,

Thanks. Actually not much time to shop around coz had to pack and leave Sydney to Tathra. At Tathra we mainly fish and sleep. Woke up at 4.30am and fish till 10pm then took a nap till 1.00pm. Had lunch and by 4pm went to the wharf to fish until 9.30pm. Went to sleep and woke up again at 4.30am. It is almost the same routine. Next time will stay longer since we came thousands of miles away.

Nice & tranquil Tathra.. Take another holiday to Halong Bay, Vietnam if you have not been there. Beautiful natural scenery. I gaurantee U & family will love it. Rooms in a boat.Spend the nights in a "floating hotel". No sea waves. Boat park in the bay. Breakfast & lunch provided. Relax on deck. Visit some islands, beaches, kayaking, fishing(lines provided)..etc.Book on line...cheaper.
