					<description><![CDATA[Sub: Use Hot Air Gun / Blower  for Removal of SMD IC&#039;s without damaging the ICs and the Boards

Dear Sir / Madam,
We represent STEINEL from Germany for their Hot Air Heat Guns useful for various applications.

Microprocessor-controlled, high-end heat gun with temperature control, LCD display and cold air stage for Removal of SMD IC’s &#038; PTH Componets / Microprocessors of Mini Systems, Mobile Phones, CTV, LCD TV, or any other electronic Chassis is difficult using our Normal Soldering Irons. Hot Air Gun is useful to facilitate easy rework without damaging the ICs and the Boards.

Apart from above there many other applications like:
1. Removal of SMD Components and Dualin IC&#039;s through Printed Through Hole Circuits (which otherwise would be difficult without the expensive De-soldering Stations, SMD Rework Stations).
2. Removal of small particles that get stuck in the small holes, while removing Dualin IC&#039;s through Printed through hole Circuits.
3. Removal of SMD IC&#039;s specially Micro Processor for System etc.
4. Removal of moisture on the PCB&#039;s can also be done with the Steinel Hot Air Gun.
5. Shrink Sleeving and Shrink Tubing.
6. Softening of Wires in Motors during repairs.
7. Drying of Adhesives / Filters / Activating Emulsions etc. 
8. Several other applications where flameless heat is required.

Applications in Refrigerators / Washing Machines / Air-conditions

1. Alignment of Gaskets in the Refrigerators.
2. To Smoothen the Doors of the Refrigerators.
3. To Remove White Marks in HIP Blow Moulded Sheets.
4. To Remove Moisture.
5. For drying of metallic parts after washing in water jet

					<description><![CDATA[I used to use a small butane powered soldering iron (weller) with a hot air tip and trusty dental pick to remove these SMD devices, then I discovered the joys of &quot;Chip Quik&quot;.  The kit consists of a small tube of flux and a coil of special solder that stays liquid for about 10 seconds before solidifying.  To remove a device; wick the pins of the device to remove most of the solder, apply the flux, then melt the &quot;Chip Quick&quot; solder on all of the pins.  When all of the pins have been treated, heat the solder again, and pry the device from the board, it should take only a few seconds to do this, and all of the solder will still be liquid allowing easy removal; be sure that you have noted the orientation of the device before removal so the new device can be properly installed; sometimes the &quot;pin 1&quot; identifier can be hard to see on these SMD devices.  After removal, wick the solder off of the pads and clean with the supplied wipes and you are now ready to install the new device.  This product was designed for SMD removal, but I have found it very useful for removing some through hole devices as well, flyback transformers with the grommets for example, it can be difficult to free up the pins without an expensive re-work station, or lots of wick and time, but &quot;Chip Quik&quot; makes fast work of these difficult removal jobs.
