Thanks for sharing, Petrol/Gasoline as a solvent is good idea, I will try it next time.
There are some other and powerful solvents but they are dangerous as well.

Hi Beh.
I used gas yesterday on a Motorola wall wart cell phone charger and it worked like a charm. I let the gas set for a few minutes, and then added a few more drops of gas and let it set for a few more minutes.

Yeah, me also. On a fan I was working on, the problem that I found was an open thermal cut-off in-line fuse on the electric motor. A 115degC, 2amp. The 3 position fan speed control switch is a sealed unit just like the wall warts are.
I wanted to take it apart to check it out and just see how it was constructed, although it checked good. I was using my Hot-Air rework station and started melting the plastic a little bit trying to heat up the glue!!
They must be using some really tough glue. So I'm gonna try their suggestions with the gasoline and brake fluid in the next day or so.
