How To Repair CCTV Camera

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Received one PTZ CCTV Camera for repair in my workshop (Here PTZ Stands for PAN-TILT-ZOOM this camera has three option of working mode). Fault symptom reported in this camera is lower lens unit is not rotating horizontally when controlled either with Joystick or Keyboard.

On visual inspection from outside it looks ok. I have rotated the lower unit with my hand it rotates smoothly hence I have opened the camera for further diagnosis.

I found two Stepper motors one for Horizontal (PAN) Movement and one for vertical (Tilt) Movement.

 

While visual inspection I have found worn-out Timing belt Under the CAP of Camera which drive horizontal direction.

After removing the belt I found some wires are damaged inside Camera cap side area.

I have powered the camera by controlling with my keyboard I found both the Motors are works well. hence decided to order the Belt for fulfill my curiosity. Till the part arrived I have to find the solution for worn out Cables. First I have decided to replace the whole cables but found little time consuming, then I decide to apply some synthetic glue on each damaged wire.

 

It took two weeks to arrange the timing belt replacement.

After receiving the cable I have attached this cable on stepper motor and re assembled the unit for further testing.

After finishing the assembly I have powered the unit and I found Unit is back to the life.

   Hi Yogesh..do you also repair a ptz IP camera rj45 function
   My camera works fine but I am not getting signal through the rj45 port. Only BNC cable input is coming..please help
