What about the new adhesive cement in a tube that you can use on anything as an adhesive or to mold (as seen on TV ) or found in Ace Hardware Stores, that you shine an ultra violet light on (supplied with kit ) to harden ? You can saw or file when done . I want to try it out but haven't had the chance. As good as a permanent weld they say.

Sometimes these ribbon cables have a little help breaking from someone trying to clean the inside of the machines, not just normal wear.

Good Job Yogesh. If the superglue does not hold out what I have found and really last a very long time is taking the superglue and mix it with some baking soda and apply it. It get so hard that it can be sanded down. Its like welding plastic. But first you must roughen the area where you are applying the glue. You can try some on a sample plastic and see how wonderful this stuff works.

Good job Yogesh. If Superglue doesn't work you always can try the Hotmelt Glue method. And if that doesn't do the job, you probably always can replace the Encoder Strip by using one from another Printer that was stripped for spare-parts.
