How To Revive Any Dead Phone Battery
I am having old Samsung Mobile phone which is not in use since long time. I am not using it frequently because of its Memory Limitation having only 768 MB usable and it can’t hold much App. Load also.
One day while organizing my tool drawer I have removed everything out and got this mobile in my hand.
With curiosity I have pressed the power button but it does not get start. So I connected charger but no symptoms of life. Obvious reason if you do not charge battery for a long time it definitely gets drained. So I checked battery voltage it shows me 1.2V out of 3.8V this voltages are very less to start the mobile.
So planned to buy new Battery but due to covid limitation not able to arrange one.
Hence I decide to do some R & D on this problem. Long back i have heard the word “Jump Start” the Battery but not familiar with the process so contacted one of my friend who is in Mobile repair business he guided me to try the process……..
Here you have to take care about Voltage. Battery voltage it should be equal or higher then bad battery by maximum 2V. Here ampere is a factor because here we are injecting Current for jump start. For these types of battery from 750mAh to 1500mAh you can use battery 4V to 4.5V with 1500mAH to 2000mah for injecting current.
I took one Li-ion Battery 18650 (3.7V) which I have salvaged from old laptop damaged Battery pack. I already have single cell charger to charge this battery & I am using this batteries frequently for testing electronics parts.
I have removed the mobile battery and connect this battery to 18650 batteries in parallel i.e. Negative to negative and positive to positive. Leave the batteries connected for between 10 to 60 seconds or just long enough for your cell phone battery to get little warm. Monitor the temperature and time closely.
As soon as the battery becomes warm, disconnect the batteries immediately.
“DO NOT try to fully charge your cell phone battery this way” or it will blast.
(Place the battery into your phone. You may need to charge the battery the rest of the way as normal, then try to power on the phone.)
After Jump start process I have checked battery voltage it shows 3.40V .i.e. enough voltage to start this Mobile phone.
Now Mobile Start with Battery…………..
Saved one more device from going to scrap
