1) Try it if works you have nothing to loss.
2) Try it with at least 1.5 to 3amp Amp this is only for 10 to 30sec. if your battery gets Hot immediately tun "OFF" the power supply and try to charging from the original charger.

Excellent, Yogesh. I´ll try with some batteries forgotten in my drawer. I have some doubts:
1) some of my batteries are sleeping for many months, so I´m afraid they will not come to life again;
2) Instead of a battery in good charging conditions as you used, would it be possible to use a power supply (obviously set to a voltage not higher than the 2 V you mentioned)? In this case, do you have an idea of the current rate?

Very useful article! Li-ion battery to the rescue. Could be a lifesaver if we immediately need our phone to work in an emergency! Even if the original battery pack no longer can be used, the 18650 probably will work too as long as we do not use the phone to re-charge it. (because the third battery contact of the phone is no longer connected with the li-ion that only has 2 contacts).
