Nice fix. I myself only use a Brother Inkjet Printer at Home that only has a terrible bad constructed plastic paper cassette. (Just inserting a sheet or 2 without removing the paper holding cassette is never possible which I think is a construction design disadvantage).
But if someone with a Laserprinter has this kind of problem, your fix could be the answer.
