If I understand you well, earlier-on the tv had its power supply system repaired, or its components mostly replaced for that matter. As that is your domain we looked foward to the repair to serve its intended purpose with dedicated reliability. However, on initially thinking that it had been brought back seven months down the line for repair of a repeated SMPS failure, on the contrary, it was failed backlight, the least of my expectation,

Very true! I have only two electronic shops in my town. One gets spares from a 24 KM away place as he stays there and comes to his shop daily. That is an advantage, as the shop at that place is very large and stock most of the spares and is also like a wholesaler. The other guy here gets it from main suppliers and would also help us. I have to hunt for spares elsewhere only when these two turn down there thumbs! Many thanks, dear Yogesh Bhai!
