That is exactly my point Aqib. They are almost always used beyond their maximum specification and therefore always cause problems. Like you said also in backlight of TVs and fail more often than the old backlight tubes or crt tubes ever did! So why they never have a decent life span.

This is your second and incorrect post

These LEDs are being driven beyond the design specifications or the input voltage fluctuated to lead to the failure.

You can’t just seduce from a failed LED that is poor build quality mate, you were not there to observe and measure the situation.

Modern TVs have high LED failure rate because they are run at 100% capacity for long durations which they simple are not design for.

DRIVE the led with the correct or less current = prevents shortening the lifespan

This repair proves the fact that the old pre-smd leds I used to buy for 75 cent a piece in the old days were much more reliable than these modern high bright smd leds of today.
From the old leds they said that they had a life span of about 1 million working hours. And they may not have been as bright but they sure never failed working!
What not can be said of these new smd leds sadly. I'm sure that the defect smd led never had so many working hours. Although it only was one of 50 of them it caused 49 leds (with probably all also less than 1 million hour life span) to no longer work.
