Please; do you have a book help me to understand and, navigate laptop schematics.
I can read most schematics but, can not figure out the power/startup circuits to fix dead laptop problems.
I also need a reference sheet for the new laptop symbols.

I've been chasing electrons through about everything you can image from TVs and VCRs to 400HP Elecreic motor dynamic braking malfunction. I was an Instrument Controls and Calibration Technician for years. Now I'm retired and disabled and just piddle in my shop. I run a non-profit Computer Repair Shop, that what you call a business with no customers!
I don't know a single person that can speck technical more less Electronics. It's a real joy to read your articles at least I feel as though I were listening to some who can speak electron flow. I ordered one of your books the other and believe me if I had the money I would own them all and orders paid for for the next one out. I wanted to get the on troubleshooting mother boards and repairing switch mode and pulse mode power supplies. I should be getting a little business coming in soon, I sprung for an ad on our local 50KW Radio Station. You are a very good hearted man. You have books to sell yet you take your time and give valuable information for free. If I were teaching Electronics in a school we'd use your books as the main study course.
I'm going to have to either build one or buy a hot air gun for SMD I believe with a 80 watt soldering and a small air flow compressor or a hair drier and a little redneck engineering I can build one. All I may get out of it may be 3rd degree burns but its worth a try.lol
Thank you for your kindness and your valuable information, if you're helping an old man like just think of the youngsters that are wanting to get into electronics you are helping. As you know Electronics isn't the easiest course on campus. When I was in school one of my instructors was visiting a high school and then our school was a technical college. While there one of the teachers approached him and told him that she was glad there were schools like his because some of the students were't smart enough to go to regular college. He laughed right in her face and told her smartest students wouldn't make to lunch in an Electronics class. How true!

Hi Bernard,

You are right usually one only needs a schematic if there are burnt components. KL pasar road used to sell Thailand tv schematics but now no longer available. I've been to Bangkok (2004) and saw one shop that sell lots of books which included the TV schematic. I believe this same shop could be selling laptop or LCD TV schematic.

Laptop Schematics are all online but need to pay, I am not very sure yet , my friend goes to Thailand and says there, on sale a complete handbook on the latest Schematics and it's not expensive, he have bought the complete LCD & Led TV schematics and it's cheap. In December he will be there and he will get me the Hand book of laptop Schematics, So far we have repairs numerous laptops without using the schematics, only when there are burned components, but usually we get it from our Laptop repair friends.
