That is good news! Yes, you are right, it gives us a thrill to set right any electronic device that reaches our table!

Devon. I did an overhaul check. The tape belts were cut off but u did not mention it because the article would too long to read. The radio was working well too.

Great job. I thought it would be a given that you would overhaul the entire unit to make make sure that it works in all respects.

In reply to Parasuraman Subramanian.

Parasuraman: thanks man. this particular pick up lens is available at electronic shop near by. the beautiful thing is not many Techs are willing to work on such devices because they are old. i work on any device that comes my way and do my best to fix them. other best thing is, I know all the techs in my area and we talk all the time about parts, where to find them and mostly if they have such parts even used for sale. have a blessed day

I am rather amazed as to how you are able to set your hands on replacement boards and components as and when you want! In our area, none of these are available and we have to really hunt for it from shop to shop in town or outside or online. Anyhow your ingenuity was proved again!

Your chain of component supply source is excellent! Suprising to see that you exactly knew what part the CD pickup lens was and that you had a new one in store. You probably have an excellent supplier or even had a service manual for this specific LG machine. Maybe also from Ifixit?
