I am always a bit scared to do such a replacement of the original Flyback transformer because I would not be able to measure the exact High Voltage output on the CRT tube without the expensive HV probe. But I guess that the resulting picture size of the tube image would also reveal if it was set too High (thus preventing dangerous X-rays). Something that you in these repair circumstances rarely read about.
