I used multi-Use WD40, anything we use excessive will spoil the task, for this type of work i never spray directly,i just put the drop on targeted area using Syringe needle which avoid excessive waste of the material.

No, standard WD40 should never be used for cleaning potentiometer tracks.

However, the company behind WD40 also makes a switch cleaning spray, so I assume this is what Yogesh used.
