I'm about to attempt to replace 2 USB ports on my Toshiba laptop motherboard. These are the 3.0 soldered to the board. I have the tools, and should be able to accomplish the task. I received the USB ports today from China, I see the 3.0 ports have 9 pins. Anyone have experience replacing these ?

hi mr. jesting, i'm glad to write you, i'm technician but i work wide range of equipment, crt, lcd, motherboard, security cameras, audio, etc, and my first trouble in motherboard is the hard find schematic, some cand find but others no, but almost, intel chipset and via chipset is very similar in architecture, so, maybe a ebook like smps can be made?

replacing with larger value capacitors cause more charge to flow & current to preceding circuit making it to malfunction & even may destroy the working circuit.I wanted a testing method of Transit voltage suppressor (TVS) diode used in hardisk drives & its equivalent diode.

Replace with a bigger microfarad like the 1000uf is a better choice.

Hi Jestine,
I find many capacitors are bulged in the motherboard which are 820uf, 680uf and so on. These value of the capacitors are not available in the market. Can I replace those with 1000uf and 470uf accordingly ?
