]]> By: mike retz https://jestineyong.com/motor-fault-in-telesonic-stand-fan/comment-page-1/#comment-251436 Wed, 26 Aug 2015 07:31:43 +0000 https://www.jestineyong.com/?p=10574#comment-251436 excellentjob! i have found that in fan motors a cause of failure is the motor bearing run out of oil and the motor slowly slows down and finally seizes. the motor windings get hot and the thermal fuse opens. thats what its there for. never jump it because that motor can get red hot and start the plastic housing on fire if the motor winding does not open in time. that thermal fuse is sometimes buried deep in the windings and sometimes hard to find and thats a reson people simply through the fan away and buy a new one. thermal fuses come in diferent trip temperatures and just putting in any fuse will not give proper protection. make sure you use the rite fuse with the same rating.
