I have found some circuit info on a HP_520_LA_3491P_VOLGA_2.0 and a HP_540 Board. On first board the 2 pins PWM controlled FAN circuit consists of a 3Volt TC7SH00FU_SSOP5 chip that gates an AO6402_TSOP6 Mosfet on 5V that controlls the Fan (protected by an extra Diode and a Zener Diode). On a HP_540 Board these are TC7SET08F + AO3409 Mosfet without the extra Diodes in the previous mentioned 2 pin circuit, and this circuit is a 3 pin FAN output connector. And here both chips are 5Volt supplied. Hope this helps finding the real cause.
